Production Designer and Texas native Helen Harwell came to Los Angeles via Chicago “a while back” armed with passion, creativity, resourcefulness, and a desire to conquer the worlds of feature film, television and music videos. Her award-winning designs for the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and PBS have garnered much industry attention.
Helen approaches the challenge of each new project with excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment. She is currently working as Production Designer on the inaugural season of The Aquabats Super Show – A Rock and Roll Superhero Extravaganza, where her pop culture and obscure media knowledge are exercised daily.
Helen also brings her vision to life on the big screen where her Art Direction credits include: I Love You Phillip Morris, Seven Days in Utopia, Salvation Boulevard and Stay Cool.
Helen has a Master of Fine Arts from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles and masters in everything else from a clever use of Photoshop. She recently worked with Bill Nye, who taught her lots of random science bits that she uses constantly to amaze her husband and cat.
